Kezia is doing very well, she is continuing to grow, and eat, and thrive. All the things a little girl is supposed to do – yay! The last few weeks have been rather uneventful. I guess that is a good thing! Just a few updates as to how Kezia is going.
Winter Sniffles
She has had a few little sniffles, and other winter bugs – all being fought off as a normal child would have (although with a lot of monitoring from mum and dad). She had an unexplained sore tummy last week – so as normal parents would do we monitored the situation, took her temperature and waited until – lo and behold it was just a twenty-four hour tummy thing, she was soon back to normal. Excellent – and a big sigh of relief from paranoid mum and dad once more!
Food Consumption
For about nine months during 2010 she ate nothing, and due to the destruction of her stomach from the chemotherapy was at a point when all nutrient intake was through TPN (total parenteral nutrition – IV only). Now she has to be pulled out of the pantry and fridge, gets her own cereal and fruit to munch on, and also cleans up plates of food … especially French toast (organic, free range, gluten free) and pasta with sauce (organic Quinoa pasta with free range, sugar free tomato sauce) excellent progress here!
Family
A week ago we had a great family time. We spent time at the Museum, Butterfly Creek and Kelly Tarlton’s Underwater World – talk about action packed and a little tricky avoiding other children at such public places! Thanks to those excellent fun adventure venues for free passes!
Bloods
The latest blood results were from quite a while ago, 16 June, which were similar in nature to previous results – we would still like to have better Red Blood Count, but also have been a little slack with the wheat grass juice.
Home IV Training
We have passed our ‘IV Vitamin C home care training course’ and can now undertake three Vitamin C doses at home per fortnight. Training was undertaken by both our Clinic and by Home Care Nurses from the Auckland District Health Board. ADHB also provide supplies which makes it easier and cheaper … and importantly improves quality of life for Kezia.
That is all for now, thanks for the continued prayer, gifts and donations, all are very much appreciated and making a significant difference. God Bless!
WOW! What a testimony! Your whole family is UNBELIEVABLE!! Bless you guys heap!! 🙂
Will keep our prayers your way
So wonderful to hear that Kezia is thriving – what an answer to prayer.
Hi Adrian
Wee Kezzy is sooo gorgeous! Please let us know if we can help in any way. Would love to come and see you all again one day. And God only knows you are even more gorgeous than we can see. Perhaps you could try some reflexology . My mum works with reflexology on children and has seen some amazing results.
Anyway keep in touch.
Luke and the fam
We are loving the great news. So encouraging 🙂
