One year ago our world changed; one year ago we had a day like no other; one year ago we had no answers; one year ago we didn’t know what to do; one year ago our life did a massive back flip – our foundation as a family was disrupted – we felt lost – our faith was about to be put to the test. One year ago we got the diagnosis; one year ago our hearts broke; one year ago we cried like nothing ever before. One year ago we had nothing to do but cry out to God for help, to call for our friends and family to pray. Below was our cry for prayer:
Kezia Update 1:
ok, so here is what has been happening regarding our daughter Kezia (4yo). About five weeks ago she started getting sick and after about ten days of no change we took her into Starship Children’s Hospital in Auckland – they did some tests and agreed that yes she was sick but did not know the cause and thought it was costochondritis (inflammation of the cartilage in her chest). So we took her home and gave her pamol and ibprofen. A week later we took her back in as no signs of improvement – they could not see what the problem was and told us it should be almost over. … cont…
Kezia update 2: So we took her home and gave her pamol and ibprofen. A week later we took her back in as no signs of improvement – they could not see what the problem was and told us it should be almost over. On Friday we took her to our doctor as the painkillers were not working and she has not improved at all. They… doctor sent her back in to Starship for tests – cont…
Kezia update 3:Yesterday she had a bone scan and ultrasound and they found a ‘mass’ of some sort in her abdomen. She had a CT scan and they found two areas of ‘mass’ in her chest and abdomen. She has been in intense pain and still has not had a good sleep in 4 weeks due to the pain. Even being on morphine all night …did not give her rest. They have scheduled a biopsy for Tuesday to find out what is going on.cont..
Kezia Update 4: Prayer request:
We are praying for Kezia that her pain goes away and she can rest.
We pray that her body can fight the ‘mass’ and overcome.
We pray that she can be completely healed quickly with no long lasting effects.
We pray for wisdom for the doctors and that they can find out what it is quickly, that they can then eliminate it quickly.
We pray that she has excellent sleeps.
We pray that she is prioritised by the hospital and that she can have excellent rest.
We pray for a miracle for the mass to disappear and Kezia to be completely healed.
We pray for breakthrough.
…. in Jesus name. Amen.Please pray with us. 5 June 2010, 13:45
Thank You Everyone!
We are so thankful for all that has happened in the last year, our Kezia is back, she is full of life, in no pain, with no sign of the tumour. She is healthy, happy, growing, tickly and giggly – like all five year old girls are meant to be!
Thank you to everyone, for the prayers, for the support, for the love, for the generosity, for providing support, thoughts and gifts. We are so thankful for all that you all have done – we look forward to a time, soon, when we can celebrate Kezia being 100%, all her results, her appetite and everything else being perfect.
We will continue to tell the world that our God is amazing. He has allowed us to go on this journey, and proved to us that He is all powerful, mighty and wonderful. We are forever praising in our home, and Kezia continues to rejoice! (Here is her special song – sung loudly while dancing and jumping around the room.)
Kezi’s getting better! Kezi’s getting better! Thank you Jesus that Kezi’s getting better! Let’s dance and sing and praise today! Kezi’s getting better! Hooray! Hooray!
God Bless.
God bless all your family, most especially for keeping the faith. You inspires us all.
